Launch of the Veolia Woodlawn MBT Facility

On Friday, 8 September, the result of close to 10 years of work for SSROC and six member councils was realised with the official opening of the Veolia MBT waste treatment facility in Woodlawn, 40 minutes south of Goulburn.

The launch of Our Energy Future at 107 Projects in Redfern on 21 June 2017 was a wonderful success. Professor Lesley Hughes from the Climate Council was the guest speaker, followed by Moreland Energy Foundation’s CEO Alison Rowe, with SSROC General Manager Namoi Dougall formally launching the Program on behalf of SSROC President Cr Sally Betts.For photos and to read more click here…

Liveability in Sydney’s Central and South Districts
The SSROC Liveability Indicators and Mapping project was recently completed by SGS Economics and Planning, who worked closely with the eleven SSROC member councils. The project provides an evidence base and builds on the SSROC’s work on Liveability benchmarks for central and southern Sydney report.

Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery (WARR) Update
The WARR team at SSROC has been working hard on a number of key projects, including the Waste Less, Recycle More Community Education Project, reducing recycling and waste contamination in Multi Unit Dwellings (MUDs), and much more. read more about it here.
